Garrett Hardin is Professor Emeritus of Human Ecology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his Sc.B. from the University of Chicago in 1936 and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1941. He is the author of numerous books about ecology, biology and ethics, including:
